In my opinion the recent attacks on women’s reproductive rights, including the efforts to cut funding for planned Parenthood, are a political policy aimed at controlling women’s behavior, economic status and health, thereby curtailing women’s freedom.  Culturally, it represents a step backward in this country, to a time when women did not have any reproductive rights and therefore often could not exercise their fundamental human rights to obtain an education and employment.
